President Obama
Unfortunately, I only caught the end of the inauguration. The part that I saw was powerful and hopeful. History has been made. A lot of people who had been disillusioned with our country have been reengaged and everyone is curious to see how his reign will play out.
I wonder how we will look back on his presidency four or eight years from now. Will he be a bust like Ryan Leaf? Will his career start out strong and fade out fast like Nomar Garciaparra? Will he begin well and then go through some rough patches and finish strong like Kurt Warner? He definitely has his work cut out for him. I wonder if he will be able to follow through on his promises and have to say that I have no idea what to expect.
There is one thing I can say with certainty. He is not the messiah. Whatever good you see from him that causes inspiration, pride and something better to come is only a reflection of the true hope of nations. May his reflection in our lives and country grow stronger each day.
“Here is my servant whom I have chosen,
the one I love, in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
He will not quarrel or cry out;
no one will hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he leads justice to victory.
In his name the nations will put their hope.”
Matthew 12:18-21
